FAQ: How I Am Paid
I only get paid when I satisfy the needs of the Homebuyers and Homesellers who are my clients.
I don't receive a penny for my efforts, except when a home sale transaction is completely finished.
- When I sell one of "my own listings", I am paid by my seller client per the terms of our Listing Agreement.
- When I sell a home that is listed by another broker, I am paid by that broker based on the terms posted in the Multiple Listing Service.
- Sometimes (very rarely) I am paid by my buyer client per the terms of our Buyer Representation Agreement.
I am self-employed:
- Although I am affiliated with RE/MAX, I am not an "employee" of RE/MAX.
- I receive no salary or wages from my broker.
- I have no company-sponsored retirement plan.
- I have no company-sponsored health insurance benefits.
- I have no paid vacation days.
- I receive no compensation from the brokerage for the cost of buying or operating a "work car".
